Rose Lane Branch
ROSE LANE CLOSING AFTER 49 1/2 YEARS OF SERVICE
We are sad to announce that our Rose Lane Branch is closing after 49 1/2 years. The Rose Lane Branch has been providing services to youth since the facility was built in 1966. It started out as a Girls Club then merged with the Boys Club in 1991. The Board of Governors have been talking for some time about what our next steps are for Rose Lane as the building does not meet the standards of quality that this organization is known for – and further capital improvement to this facility is not prudent.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale is committed to providing quality youth development programs to our community. We will be offering two options for youth who attended Rose Lane.
1. If they attend Navajo or Kiva Elementary school they will be transported to the Hartley & Ruth Barker Branch located at 2311 N Miller Road.
2. If they attend Pueblo,Mohave Middle School or Saguaro High School they will have the option to attend the Virginia G Piper Branch located at 10515 E Lakeview Drive.
The Boys & Girls Clubs will provide transportation for all members from elementary and middle school. High school members will have the option to utilize public transportation if they wish to attend the Barker Branch. If they wish to attend Piper, the Boys & Girls Clubs will provide transportation. Unfortunately at this time there will be no transportation back to the Rose Lane neighborhood. All members must be picked up at their new Club.
Please know that we are all very aware that big changes like these require much thought and planning. With this in mind, we promise to work hard to make sure that this transition is smooth and exciting for our Rose Lane families.
Thank you for all the memories!
