Program and membership fees support less than 40 percent of the funds needed for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale to provide services to 16,000 members. In order for the Club to continue providing more than 100 quality programs, and to keep them affordable to all families, additional support must come from concerned individuals, corporations and foundations.

Volunteer

If you have a particular skill, why not share it with our youth? There are many volunteer opportunities at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. Certainly one will suit your skills and interests:

  • Program volunteers work directly with kids in a variety of program areas from sharing billiard techniques in the game room to teaching guitar to tutoring an ESL (English as a Second Language) student.
  • Branch volunteers can coach one of our basketball or football teams.
  • Special event volunteers provide the people power needed to set up and staff various recognition and fund-raising events throughout the year.
  • The Auxiliary of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale organizes several fundraisers, including its renowned Holiday Event. It also provides the volunteer management and staff for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale Thrift Shop, which contributes significantly to the Club each year.
  • Board volunteers at the Governor and Director levels set the policies and procedures for the organization and lead its fundraising efforts by providing leadership, planning and financial management.

"My first visit to the Red Mountain Branch was all the motivation I needed to get involved! Seeing the sheer joy on the kids' faces in that small, well-run Club was such a great feeling. I knew I wanted to give my time, my talents and other resources to an organization that would continue to put smiles on kids' faces around Scottsdale and the Northeast Valley!"

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale has many avenues for concerned community members to lend financial support to furthering the organization's mission. Here are a few ways you can help:

  • Angels for Kids is an annual community campaign led by the Club's Boards and staff.  Through your individual donation, you can support our kids and help ensure we continue our history of excellence in youth development programs.
  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale Thrift Shop is a great place to find unique treasures at a fraction of normal retail prices. To donate new or gently used items, please call 480.949.5787.
  • Event sponsorship allows individuals and corporations the opportunity to support the Club while receiving additional marketing benefits. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale offer several events throughout the year. Major fundraising events include: Uncorked & Unplugged, a fall gala celebrating the best in gourmet foods, fine wine and spirits, and live entertainment; the Mark Grace Celebrity Invitational, a spring golf tournament uniting local golfers with sports celebrities; and Celebrate Youth, a donor recognition event highlighted by the annual naming of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale Youth of the Year.
